Presenting the best ideas on creativity bubbling up in the Tri-Valley and beyond.  Join us on September 20^th 2014 to learn how creativity can be harnessed for the greater good.

Our talented roster of speakers includes thought leaders from science, business and the arts.  Each will share their “aha!” moment of creative discovery and how it made an impact in their community.

TEDxLivermore 2014 inspiring speakers and subjects include: 

Tree canopy researcher Margaret Lowman, Ph.D., from the California Academy of Sciences will address the challenges of being a woman in science and what’s possible when men and women collaborate to find environmental solutions. 

Lindsey Shephard of GoldieBlox, the toy company on a mission to inspire the next generation of female engineers, will reveal how, despite industry resistance, the firm was able to develop and launch a best-selling, award-winning toy that engages girls in tinkering and building.

Former San Ramon Fire Chief Richard Price will describe the circumstances that yielded PulsePoint, a smart phone application that alerts CPR-trained individuals to nearby life-threatening emergencies.

Maestro Michael Morgan from the Oakland East Bay Symphony will reveal how orchestras and music in general can reach across economic, racial, ethnic, generational and religious lines to build a community.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxLivermore, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxLivermore event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
